TDS, known as 'Tax Deducted at Source’, was introduced to collect tax from the source of an individual’s income. According to TDS concept, a person (deductor) who is liable to make specified nature payment to any other person (deductee) shall deduct tax at source and remit the same into the account of the Central Government.
The deductee, whose income tax has been deducted at source, would be entitled to get the credit of the amount deducted based on Form 26AS or TDS certificate issued by the deductor.

To upload TDS, the user should hold valid TAN and should be registered in e-Filing.
The statement should be prepared using the Return Preparation Utility (RPU) and validated using the File Validation Utility (FVU). The utilities can be downloaded from the tin-nsdl website.
Valid DSC should be registered in e-Filing. (To upload using DSC)
User should pre-validate principal contact’s “Bank Account/Demat Account details“ or link principal contact’s PAN with Aadhaar. (To upload using EVC)

There are some easy steps you need to follow to upload your TDS statement. To upload TDS, the steps are as below.

Follow these steps to upload your TDS statement.
Step 1: First of all, in e-Filing Homepage, you have to click on "Login Here".
Step 2: Here, you have to enter the User ID (TAN), password, captcha and then, click Login.
Step 3: After login, you click on TDS and then click, Upload TDS.
Step 4: In the form provided, you have to select the appropriate statement details from the drop-down boxes for FVU Version, Financial Year, Form Name, Quarter and Upload Type. Please note, TDS can be uploaded from Financial Year 2010-11.
Also note, only Regular Statements can be uploaded in e-Filing portal.
Step 5: Providing the required details, click Validate to validate your statement details.
Step 6: Upload the TDS/TCS statement (Prepared using the utility downloaded from tin-NSDL Website) on the Upload TDS ZIP file section.
Step 7: Then, you have to upload the signature file generated using DSC Management Utility for the uploaded TDS ZIP file on the Attach the Signature file section.
Step 8: At last, you have to click on the Upload button. Once the TDS is uploaded, the success message will be displayed on the screen. A confirmation mail will be sent to your registered email id.
